Pupil arrested with packets of dagga at Forest Hill High School

Around 360 learners were searched during a joint operation by law enforcement and one pupil was found in possession of packets of dagga.

A 15-year pupil was arrested for possession of 15 packets of dagga during a joint raid by Johannesburg Metro, police and the local sector three community policing forum at Forest Hill High School in Forest Hill, southern Joburg.

The pupil was arrested and charged with possession and dealing in drugs on Tuesday according to Booysens police spokesperson, Captain Lorraine van Emmerik.

Around 360 pupils were searched and the packets of dagga found led to the student’s arrest. Because of his age, police said he was released in the custody of his parents. Van Emmerik said police were awaiting more information on when the pupil would appear in court.

This follows the arrest of six pupils at Chipa-Tabane Secondary School in Cullinan, east of Tshwane, last Wednesday. Police said the six were charged with dealing in drugs after they were found in possession of Kat and dagga, according to a Daily Sun report.
