Police hunt suspects after pregnant woman’s body found in Crocodile River
The woman's body was discovered on Sunday with gunshot wounds.

Mpumalanga police are on the hunt for murder suspects after a pregnant woman’s body was found in the Crocodile River at Kanyamazane, near Mbombela.
According to police spokesperson Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the woman’s body was discovered on Sunday with gunshot wounds.
Mdhluli said the unidentified woman was estimated to be in her 30s. She has short blonde hair and she was wearing pink trousers as well as a maroon T-shirt when police found her body.
“The [police] members, as well as medical personnel, were notified about the incident and upon arrival at the scene, the woman was unfortunately certified dead by the paramedics,” Mdhluli said in a statement.

Mpumalanga provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Semakaleng Manamela, said she was extremely disturbed by the incident, especially given that the country is observing women’s month.
Manamela ordered police to swiftly arrest those behind the murder.
“Members of the community are urged to assist the South African Police Service with information on the whereabouts of the suspect(s) or the woman’s family by contacting the investigating officer, Detective Constable Andrea Terrance Mthunzi Maphanga at 082-469-1604 or the Branch Commander, Captain Ishmael Zephania Phiri at 082-469-1542.”
Members of the public with information that could assist police in their investigations were also urged to call the Crime Stop number on 08600-10111 or send information via MYSAPSAPP.
All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
