A second suspect is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 22 April 2025, in connection with a murder that took place in the same court building.
The suspect, who is a 24-year-old woman, was arrested over the weekend by detectives from the Western Cape serious and violent crimes unit. She is facing charges of murder.
It comes after Dingalomoya Chintso, a 50-year-old taxi operator from Vrygrond, was shot inside the court building on Tuesday, 8 April.
Another woman, 35-year-old Shireen Matthews, was the first person arrested in connection with the murder. She was apprehended on Sunday, 13 April and appeared in court the next day.
She is believed to be the mastermind behind the shooting.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said Matthews will be back in court on Wednesday, 23 April.
“With the investigation unfolding, the team has been questioning a number of individuals and steady progress is being made in efforts to apprehend all those responsible for the murder,” said Potelwa.
She added that further arrests are expected in the case.
Last week, National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Western Cape spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said the shooting of the man inside the court is believed to be a revenge murder.
The victim was gunned down while attending a court hearing related to a murder case in which he was the accused.
Ntabazalila said Matthews allegedly organised and recruited members of the Junky Funky Kids (JFK) gang to assassinate the taxi operator.
“At this stage, it looks like it’s a revenge murder and that he was allegedly involved in the assassination of another [gang] member, which happened last year,” he added.
