Man murdered and dismembered in Roodepoort

There are currently two versions of the story doing the rounds, and police have yet to confirm details.

It has been alleged a man was murdered and dismembered in Roodepoort on Friday, reports Roodepoort Record.

There are two versions of the event currently doing the rounds. In one version, the domestic worker got suspicious when she arrived at the flat where she worked and found traces of blood. She alerted the police who allegedly discovered limbs in the flat. Later a member of the public came across the rest of the corpse, the head and torso still intact, in the veld adjacent to Jersey Road. It seemed the killer had attempted to burn the body.

In the second version, it is a member of the public who came across the remains in the veld and alerted the police.

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder, which allegedly happened after an argument over money.

Roodepoort police confirmed the murder, but referred the Roodepoort Record to its provincial structures.

The Roodepoort Record is currently awaiting comment from the police’s provincial spokesperson, Kay Makhubela.
