KZN taxi driver ‘accidentally’ shot by security guard
The security guard has been arrested and police are investigating after the taxi driver was fatally shot.
After the driver was shot the taxi crashed into a bus that was parked at a bus rank, near the taxi rank.
A taxi driver was shot and killed, allegedly by a security guard, at the Maphumulo taxi rank in KwaDukuza on Tuesday morning, reports North Coast Courier.
The man’s gun was apparently fired by accident inside the vehicle, reported police.

KwaDukuza police spokesperson Sibusiso Khuzwayo said the 29-year-old driver was taking a taxi to a panel beater when the security guard asked for a lift.
When the security guard sat down, he pulled out a gun and while he was pulling it out, he allegedly pulled the trigger by mistake and the driver was shot. The taxi crashed into a bus that was parked next to the taxi rank, said Khuzwayo.
The security guard has been arrested and police are investigating.
