KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested an 18-year-old suspect following a mass shooting incident over the weekend in Umbumbulu.
Six people were shot and killed at Empandwini Resort, in the Entabeni area, on Saturday evening in a suspected drug-related shooting.
Spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said police found six lifeless bodies on Sunday morning after community members reported gunshots on Saturday night.
The bodies were discovered in an Umbumbulu house owned by a 35-year-old, who is suspected to have been involved in drug dealing and cable theft.
Netshiunda said it took the police just a little over 24 hours to make a breakthrough in the shooting incident.

The 18-year-old suspect was nabbed on Monday after intensive police investigations.
“He is suspected of being behind the killing of the six people, including two sisters who were found dead with gunshot wounds.
“Four bodies were found inside a room, one was lying next to the house and the other was recovered a few metres away from the house.
A substance that is perceived to be drugs was found inside the house,” said Netshiunda in a statement.
The suspect in the KZN shooting is expected to appear in court soon and police investigations into the possible cause of the killings were continuing.
Police did not rule out the possibility of more arrests in the case.
