Irate KZN residents track down rape suspect, hand him over to police

Angry community members in the Maqhwakazi Reserve outside eShowe located and apprehended a 26-year-old suspect who allegedly raped a 27-year-old woman at her homestead on Sunday night, reports Zululand Observer.

It is alleged that the victim was asleep when the suspect gained entry through a window and raped her. The traumatised woman said she managed to switch on a light and she recognised her attacker as a family friend.

He was remanded in custody until next Wednesday’s bail application.
