IN PICS: Massive drug bust valued over R500k shocks Tzaneen community
Copious amounts of marijuana and mushrooms were discovered in the elderly man's home.

A 62-year-old man was arrested on Monday night in Tzaneen during an intelligence-driven joint operation for manufacturing and concocting drugs, reports Letaba Herald.

“A sting joint operation composed of the Tzaneen Cluster Crime Intelligence, the Provincial Drug Team, the detectives and the Tzaneen Cluster OCC, was conducted in the Tzaneen policing area. During this operation, a drug-lab was uncovered in a house within the Tzaneen CBD area,” Colonel Moatshe Ngeope said.
The suspect, believed to be the drug lord, was arrested.
A high quantity of dagga and mushrooms were discovered.
The estimated value of the recovered drugs is over R500,000.
