Convicted gangster calls foiled ‘December escape plot’ a lie

An alleged escape plan by the convicted gangster and Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir has been foiled in December. This is according to the department of correctional services who let slip to TimesSelect that the attempt was stopped during the festive season.

Krejcir has, however, labelled the accusation as an attempt by the prison to keep him from better prison conditions. He is in the process of launching an urgent application against the department for torturous prison treatment.

The convicted drug dealer has spent months with an urgent application in the Johannesburg High Court claiming the conditions behind bars were a violation of his human rights. He has repeatedly claimed he was being tortured at the Leeuwkop prison.

Krejcir is alleged to have assembled a team of the best legal minds in an attempt to get out of jail in South Africa and back to the Czech Republic. He claims there is a conspiracy to keep him behind bars and maintains he was framed for crimes he didn’t commit.

He is currently serving a 35-year sentence for attempted murder, kidnapping, and drug dealing. His family have made it clear they want him to serve the remainder of his sentence in his home country.
