Car hijacked in Witbank

A case of car hijacking has been opened with no arrests having been made so far.


A blue Toyota Hilux Legend 40 Double Cab was reported hijacked by the police, Witbank News reports.

The incident took place on Monday, February 11, at 2am in Jellicoe Street.

The 41-year-old complainant alleged that he was with his friend and his friend got out of the vehicle to buy some beer.

The complainant was approached by three unknown male suspects who were all armed with pistols which they pointed at him.

The suspects then took him from the driver’s seat, put him in the back and instructed him to lie down.

He saw a police vehicle when the suspects slowed down at a traffic light. He jumped out of the vehicle and raced to the police vehicle for help.

The suspects drove away with the Toyota Hilux with registration number FGP 043 MP.

A case of car hijacking has been opened and no one has been arrested.
