A father shot and killed his son before committing suicide in their Cape Town home, police said.
An inquest and murder docket was opened following the incident on Sunday morning in Panorama.
The man was 69 and his son was seven years old.
Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk said the case was under investigation.
