Pule Mabe has reportedly laid fraud charges against Kgoerano Kekana, his former PA who last year accused him of sexual harassment.
Mabe was recently accused of sexual harassment but the ANC’s internal inquiry found him not guilty.
However, ANC secretary-general Ace Magashule announced last month that Mabe had requested not to work as the spokesperson for the party until he had his name cleared.
City Press reports that Mabe laid charges of fraud against Kekana for allegedly misrepresenting her academic qualifications on her CV.
Mabe reportedly opened the case against Kekana on March 8 and he said in his statement that he did so in his personal capacity.
During the internal ANC inquiry, Mabe reportedly said that Kekana’s accusations against him had been out of spite because he had revealed that she had misrepresented her qualifications which led to him reducing her pay.
In a statement with the police, Mabe said he hired Kekana as his PA based on the qualifications represented on her CV – a diploma in public relations from Varsity College and a higher certificate of business management from Regenesys.
However, Mabe said he later learned through inquiries that Kekana did not have any of the qualifications.
