According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS, the metro police were alerted by community members residing in neighbouring flats.

“They were worried when they didn’t see the woman in the morning after they heard disturbing loud sounds during the night,” said Mtshali.

“They only saw the woman’s boyfriend leave the flat in the morning.”

Mtshali said the officers went to the flat where they had to force open the door to gain entry. They found the beheaded body on the bed.

The woman’s head was found in a fridge in the flat.

“The 31-year-old boyfriend was arrested at his work soon after the discovery of his girlfriend’s decapitated body,” said Mtshali.

Investigations into the murder case continue.
