Babes Wodumo was all smiles after leaving court on Wednesday morning for her second appearance in her ongoing assault case despite being reprimanded by Magistrate Jackie Jonck for being late.
According to Times Live, Babes Wodumo (real name Bongekile Simelane) was reportedly delayed by car troubles which she said made her miss her first court appearance a few weeks ago.
Magistrate Jonck told Babes: “If your car is unreliable, take an Uber or a Taxify. This is the last time this court will indulge you. Next time I will cancel your bail and keep you in custody.”
Her co-accused, fellow artist Tipcee (real name Thobeka Ndaba) was next to be reprimanded as Magistrate Jonck believes she was displaying signs of an attitude problem.
Following their lecture, the trio posed for the press outside court once proceedings adjourned and even instructed photographers to take good pictures of them.

Babes, Tipcee, and Babes’s sister, Nondumiso Simelane, are expected back in court for a pretrial conference on May 16, a day after Babes’s estranged boyfriend, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo is set to appear at the Pinetown magistrate’s court for the assault charges Babes laid against him.
The three have yet to answer to charges of assault filed by an unidentified woman from an area named Umbilo in KwaZulu-Natal.
The woman filed the charges in early March shortly after Babes Wodumo and her then-boyfriend and manager Mampintsha filed counter charges against each other for assault following the viral leak of a live stream video showing Mampintsha assaulting Babes.
