He had just taken the court through his story of what he thought was a burglar in his home in Pretoria.
“…She wasn’t breathing,” said Pistorius, after describing how he broke the door down.
His sister Aimee let out a sob, and Pistorius started sobbing and howling, doubled over as he cried loudly.
A policeman promptly asked everyone to stand up and his brother Carl and his lawyer Brian Webber rushed over to him.
The judge ordered an adjournment, and Carl held Pistorius in a tight embrace as he was led out of the court while everyone whispered.
June Steenkamp, Reeva Steenkamp’s mother, stared, and looked occasionally at the friends sitting next to her.
Pistorius has denied murdering Steenkamp.
