She arrived alone and took her seat on the right side of the first row of the public gallery shortly before 9am. She has so far only attended the first day of the trial, on March 3.
Shortly after June Steenkamp took her seat, Pistorius, dressed in a black, arrived without a glance in her direction.
He sat down in the dock, took off his glasses, and began looking through his bag.
His sister, Aimee, approached June Steenkamp and kneeled at her feet, speaking to her. They nodded and patted each other’s hands.
Pistorius is accused of the premeditated murder of Reeva Steenkamp in his Pretoria home on February 14 last year. He shot her through the closed door of his toilet, apparently believing she was an intruder.
A new witness was expected to be called on Monday.
Last week concluded with cross-examination of Colonel Giliam van Rensburg by Barry Roux, for Pistorius. Van Rensburg was the first police officer on the crime scene.
In addition to the murder of Steenkamp, Pistorius is charged with contraventions of the Firearms Control Act. He allegedly fired a shot from a Glock pistol under a table at a Johannesburg restaurant in January 2013.
On September 30, 2012 he allegedly shot through the open sunroof of a car with his 9mm pistol while driving with friends in Modderfontein.
