A 27-year-old man from King Williams Town was on Monday sentenced by the Uitenhage Regional Court to 15 years in prison for the murder of his 32-year-old brother in November 2017.
According to testimony given during the trial, Andile Ace September and his brother, Xolani September, had an argument about money on November 10 2017, which resulted in Andile stabbing his older brother, Xolani. Andile September was arrested the same day on a charge of murder after Xolani passed away in hospital a few hours after the stabbing, said the SA Police Service.
The acting Uitenhage cluster commander, Brigadier Ronald Koll, said: “Dedication and commitment portrayed by detectives from the South African Police Service in Kwanobuhle ensured through thorough investigations that a murder accused was sentenced effectively to 15 years imprisonment. This conviction and lengthy sentence meted out by our courts are as a result of thorough investigations by our detectives, who gathered all relevant evidence to successfully link the offender to the crime.”
