Duduzane Zuma back in the dock for culpable homicide

During his last appearance in March, one of his two culpable homicide charges were dropped.

The trial of Duduzane Zuma, who faces a charge of culpable homocide, is expected to continue in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The charge relates to a 2014 accident that resulted in the death of Phumzile Dube.

Dube was killed and three others were injured after Zuma’s Porsche rear-ended a minibus taxi on the M1 South off-ramp to Grayston Drive in Sandton. Later, a second passenger, Nanki Jeanette Mashaba also passed away.

In March, it was determined that Mashaba’s death was caused by her pre-existing conditions. This resulted in one of his two culpable homicide charges being dropped.

Zuma, who has pleaded not guilty to his charges, said he lost control of his Porsche after it hit a puddle in rainy conditions.
