The ANC Women’s League continued to sing outside the court in support of the family of Reeva Steenkamp.
“Pantsi [Down] ngo Oscar, pantsi [down]! Rot in jail, Oscar, rot in jail!”, they chanted.
The Pistorius and Steenkamp family left courtroom GD as the case was adjourned for a lunch break before 1pm.
LIVE VIDEO FEED: Oscar Pistorius Judgment
Pistorius was seen huddling with his siblings after Judge Thokozile Masipa acquitted him of murder. She found that the evidence with regard to the murder charge was “purely circumstantial”.
Masipa was due to rule on culpable homicide, the unlawful killing of a person without an intention to kill, after the break.
Pistorius, 27, said he thought an intruder was behind the door of the toilet in his Pretoria home when he shot through it. He fired four times, killing Steenkamp on February 14, 2013.
The State argued the murder was premeditated.
Pistorius pleaded not guilty to the murder charge, and to three firearm-related charges.
