Suspect in Annette Kennealy murder case to remain in custody

The arrest comes after Kennealy was attacked and killed by unknown suspects on the Welgevonden farm in May.


A 40-year-old suspect arrested in connection with the murder of Annette Kennealy appeared in the Makhado Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of murder.

The arrest comes after Kennealy was attacked and killed by unknown suspects on the Welgevonden farm, outside Makhado in May, reports Polokwane Review.

Family members tried to contact Kennealy, but to no avail. A family member then found her inside her house, with multiple stab wounds to her body, lying in a pool of blood, explained police spokesperson Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The suspect is still in custody and the case was postponed to July 9.
