Residents have gathered outside the Polokwane Magistrate's Court this morning demanding justice for Thoriso Themane.

Five suspects between the ages of 15 and 16 years old are expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court this morning in connection with the murder of Thoriso Themane, reports Polokwane Review.

His murder has caused a national outcry, which has led to the social media hashtag #JusticeForThoriso.

Crowds are currently gathering outside the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court, demanding justice for Themane’s murder.

Included in the crowd is EFF chairperson for ward 20, Linda Manamela, who was denied entry into the court.

“We understand they are underage but they killed a human soul. We want to support the Themane family,” she could be heard saying.

DA provincial leader Jacques Smalle, along with other members of the DA, are also outside the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Smalle told Polokwane Review that they were concerned about the increase in drug-related crime in the city.

Polokwane Review is currently live at the scene, and will update accordingly.
