Cellphone ‘extraction’ discussed – Oscar Trial
Day 15 of Oscar Pistorius's murder trial began with a technical explanation of how a police cellphone analyst downloaded data from the paralympic athlete's cellphone.

Captain Francois Moller explained in the High Court in Pretoria on Tuesday how he “extracted” data from Pistorius’s iPhone5.
He also used detailed billing records from Vodacom to get details of all voice and text communication and internet activity.
The movement of the cellphone could be established by the cellphone tower the device communicated with.
Moller explained, to questions from prosecutor Gerrie Nel, that he compiled charts to summarise the data and make it visual.
Pistorius has been charged with the premeditated murder of Steenkamp and contraventions of the Firearms Control Act. He allegedly fired a shot from a Glock pistol under a table at a Johannesburg restaurant in January 2013.
On September 30, 2012 he allegedly shot through the open sunroof of a car with his 9mm pistol while driving with friends in Modderfontein.
