Centurion taxi rank shooting leaves one dead

The motive of the shooting at Lyttelton taxi rank is not yet known.


A man was killed and another injured following a shooting in Lyttelton on Monday morning, reports Centurion Rekord.

Lyttelton police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller said the shooting happened on the corner of Station and Botha Avenue.

“At this moment, I can confirm that there was a shooting at the taxi rank. One person was killed and another suffered slight injuries,” he said.

Miller said the motive of the shooting was unknown.

“We are still on the scene investigating, and more information will be available in due time.”

He said no arrests were made.
