London-based PR firm Bell Pottinger has filed an appeal against a finding made by the United Kingdom’s Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) that it stoked racial tensions in South Africa.
EWN reports that the Democratic Alliance confirmed that the PR firm was appealing the ruling.
The DA had reported Bell Pottinger to the PRCA claiming that the agency which was working with the Gupta family had fulled racial hatred in the country through the use of the term “white monopoly capital.”
The party also demanded that the agency reveal details of its account with the controversial Gupta family and money paid.
The association ruled against the agency last month.
EWN reports that the PRCA board of management would meet on Monday to consider the agency’s appeal and a final ruling is expected on Tuesday.
