The convener of Save South Africa Dr Barney Pityana – formerly a full-time commissioner for the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) as well as principal of the University of South Africa (Unisa) – has encouraged South Africans who force public officials to account to continue.
Pityana has shared on his social media accounts that “some people think that nothing has come of the outrage against the Zuptas” and proceeded to publish what he calls a “a list of accomplishments”.
At the top of the list is Brian Molefe and Ben Ngubane, who “are no longer at the helm of Eskom”. They are followed by KPMG, McKinsey and Bell Pottinger, “Gupta’s professional enablers [who] are in deep trouble”.

Pityana says this outrage has jostled our “sleepy Parliament” out of its slumber to an extent that they have now agreed to institute an inquiry into state capture allegations.
The social justice campaigner noted that “Prasa has saved billions” by cancelling irregular contracts, while [General Berning Mthandazo] Ntlemeza (former heads of Hawks), [Adv Lawrence] Mrwebi and [Adv Nomgcobo] Jiba are gone.”
“Even politicians can no longer deny the evidence of state capture,” he continued.
