The ANC’s top-six leadership is expected to fly down to Kwazulu-Natal on Friday. A war of words between the mother body and provincial structures has erupted over the decision to appeal a high court ruling that declared KZN’s 2015 elective conference unlawful this week.
According to a TimesLIVE report, senior sources in KZN said it was possible the provincial executive committee (PEC) will be disbanded and an interim task team would be put in place, such as a provincial task team (PTT).
The meeting between the ANC top brass and PEC is also expected to be dominated by the province’s decision to appeal Tuesday’s judgement by Pietermaritzburg High Court. The provincial women’s and youth leagues and the veterans on Wednesday vowed to appeal the ruling, despite being told to stand down by the national leadership until the meeting is convened.
