WATCH: Motorist runs over biker at red traffic light in Bloemfontein

The biker has survived the crash. WARNING: Video could disturb sensitive viewers.

A video showing a biker being run over by a bakkie at a red traffic light on Sunday has left South Africans on social media speculating on whether the accident could have been intentional. In the video shared by Arrive Alive, the biker stops at a red traffic light on Zaston street in Bloemfontein, when a speeding car smashes into him.

Apart from the red traffic that could have stopped the bakkie, social media users wondered why he did not use an empty lane.

Facebook user Ryno Pieters, said to be the biker’s brother, said he survived the crash.

He said: “Hi everyone, we are now all with my brother. He is awake and can move, God’s grace is great, didn’t think I’d hear my brother talk so soon. He is in a lot of pain but it looks like he is recovering. Thank you to everyone for your support.”
