Isibaya actors recently took a break from filming, and comedian Celeste Ntuli had a whole lot to say about black South African men and their “mental slavery”. In a video that has been circulating on social media, Ntuli and Bongani Gumede have a debate about the “mental slavery” that has gripped South African men.
Firstly, black men must acknowledge their mental slavery, says Ntuli.
“The fact that you have terms such as blessers and yellow bones, the only country in this f*#king continent. It shows the mental slavery that you’re suffering from.”
She says black men’s preference for light-skinned women shows they still believe the whiter, the better. She has slated black men for apparently saying they cannot identify with black women in this country “because they are darker and more African”.
“You see, dating a South African black man is a constant f*#king therapy.”
She goes on to criticise the men for “lacking activity”, unlike other races that always do something that benefits them. Compared to black men who spend their weekends at chisa nyamas, other races wake up in the morning and “jog”.
“What does a South African man do? Ni chisa nyama. 80% of you are at f*#king chisa nyama every weekend. If Russians and all other countries can come and attack South African on Sunday, oh shame! All women and children will be dead because men will be fucked up on chisa nyama.”
Black men cannot do anything to improve their lives because their priority is a “vagina”.
Gumede then interjects Ntuli, asking her if she has ever had time to look into the victimisation of black men.
“No, the thing is, we were victimised together. When are you f*#king waking up?” she asks him.
The main problem with black men, according to Ntuli is that they have no agenda. Every other race in this country has one, hence they work hard to protect it.
“White people must keep their privilege, and they must control the shit for the next generation, you understand? Indians and Chinese are here for the profit, they don’t give a f*#k about any other thing. Black men’s agenda is an ass and a yellow bone. We can’t fight anywhere there, wake up and smell the f*#king coffee and lose the blesser culture.”

She says: “A South African black man must acknowledge their own mental slavery the way it is. You have mental slavery. The fact that you have terms such as blessers and yellow bones, the only country in this fucking continent. It shows the mental slavery that you’re suffering from. There’s no way you’re still believing the whiter, the better, there’s no f*#king way.
“No, the thing is, we were victimised together. When are you f*#king waking up? We were raped as well, we had men that were emasculated, and they were shown as people that were horrible and criminals and everything else but we abide by you.
“Our mothers are coming from a generation of saying: ‘Hayi bhekezela [endure], don’t out your man like that, you must control your s*#t.'”
