“The temperatures are expected to improve from midweek, we’re expecting to see a slight rise in temperatures,” said forecaster Puseletso Mofokeng.

Snowy weather conditions were experienced across several parts of the country in recent days.

Snow started to fall on Thursday evening in some parts of the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, southern Lesotho, as well as in the Drakensberg mountains in KwaZulu-Natal.

“Temperatures are expected to be cool today [Monday], with the exception of Mpumalanga and Limpopo which experience a slight rise in temperatures and warmer conditions,” Mofokeng said.

Some areas in the interior, especially in the Free State were expected to be very cold.

Mofokeng said no snow was predicted for the next two week.
