Search continues for missing Maritzburg physiotherapist

The family of Shaista Naipal, who has been missing since Friday evening, has appealed for help in finding her.

28-year-old physiotherapist Shaista Naipal, who has been missing since Friday evening, last spoke to her family on the night she went missing saying that she was going away to help a friend and would return in a few days, reports Maritzburg Sun.

Her brother Nasteesh Naipal said: “Her cell phone has been switched off and we have since retrieved her car that she had left at the Medi-Clinic parking lot where she worked. She was last seen at the hospital. She sounded frantic when she spoke to me last on Friday. She didn’t tell us who she was going to be with and we have checked with all her friends – most of whom are her colleagues – and they don’t know anything.”

She is slenderly built, 1.5 meters tall and has two tattoos – one on her left-hand wrist of a chain with an Aum sign and the other on her left shoulder with feather and birds.

Nasteesh said that the family was doing the best they can to find his sister, including hiring a private investigator.

“My mother is quite stressed at the moment and we [are] working together. We have opened a case of missing persons at the Loop Street Police Station,” he said.
