WATCH: Shacks saved from veldfires in Mpumalanga
A crew from a security company managed to extinguish the flames and evacuate the residents and their belongings.
Several shacks in Ext 11, eMbalenhle, were saved in the nick of time last night as a raging veldfire crept uncomfortably close to the informal houses, the Ridge Times reports.
A makeshift shed with numerous containers was already engulfed in flames when help arrived just after 5pm.

Alf Byleveldt and his crew from Jelani Security battled to extinguish the flames and evacuate the residents and their belongings while the municipal fire brigade was en route from Leandra.
