Plettenberg Bay protests flare up again

The protest action is believed to be related to housing issues in Qolweni.


A riot in Plettenberg Bay that began on Monday night has now flared up again, Knysna Plett Herald reports.

It is believed the protesters are from Qolweni, and that the protest action is related to housing issues.

Police are on the scene and busy dispersing the crowd.

The N2 is closed from Ladywood to the traffic circle at the Shell Ultra City.

Traffic is being redirected via Wittedrift/Avontuur road and via Airport road until further notice.

Motorists have also been warned to take care when travelling in the vicinity of Qolweni/Bossiesgif and industrial area, and to report suspicious activity.
