WATCH: Comrades contestant ditches time concerns for dance moves

A Comrades contestant who participated in the epic race over the weekend stopped for water and a quick dance before carrying on with the race.


The 2018 Comrades Marathon saw a diverse range of dedicated, talented contestants.

Amputee runner Xolani Luvuno, a former drug addict and cancer survivor, finished the Comrades on crutches.

The winner of the race, Bongumusa Mthembu, is only the second South African to win the event twice.

But another contestant seemed to have had a grand time, dancing at a water stop during the race. Volunteers joined in, making it a very entertaining few minutes.

 

The man, whose name is not yet known, ditched his time concerns for fancy dance moves before returning to the race.

The video has been circulating on social media, and highlights an aspect of the race that many do not consider – it is about having fun and coming together. And it seems that the jovial gentleman successfully did both.
