A fan seemed determined to reach for his dreams as he jumped the fence at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening in an attempt to touch Barcelona star Lionel Messi.
Barcelona cruised to a comfortable 3-1 win over Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nelson Mandela Centenary Cup at the Stadium on Wednesday night.
A fan, however, didn’t want to miss the opportunity to touch the Barca superstar.
Messi, who was called on to the field by supporters from the bench, began warming up in the second half.
Before Messi was substituted into the match in the 74th minute, the fan jumped the fence and charged towards Messi for a quick embrace.
The fan’s moment of a lifetime turned ugly as a swarm of security guards quickly pounced on the fan to protect the Argentinian. The fan was immediately taken off the field.
