19 injured as car, two taxis collide in Gauteng

Nineteen people were injured when a car and two minibus taxis collided on New Modder Road in Benoni in Ekurhuleni on Saturday morning, Gauteng paramedics said.

ER24 paramedics arriving on the scene found the occupants of an Opel Corsa and two minibus taxis, including the drivers, had been injured, ER24 spokeswoman Annine Dormehl said.

“It is believed that the driver of the Corsa lost control of the vehicle and then veered into the two taxis. ER24 transported seven of the patients to Sunshine Hospital in Benoni and about 12 patients were transported to hospital by other emergency services on [the] scene,” she said.
