LIVE: Winnie Madikizela-Mandela’s state funeral
The Mother of the Nation is being honoured at Orlando Stadium before she will be laid to rest in the Fourways Memorial Park.
The nation is in mourning as we lay to rest Nomzamo Winifred Zanyiwe Madikizela-Mandela in a final farewell.
Early on Saturday, the same hearse that carried her late former husband, Nelson Mandela, bore her coffin to Orlando Stadium, where mourners from around South Africa and the world gathered to offer their last respects.
The funeral procession then set off from the stadium after 2pm to carry her coffin, draped in the South African flag on the back of an open military vehicle, to her final resting place. It was later moved into a van.
