LISTEN: Shivambu should still face legal action, says journalist after ‘scuffle’ outside parliament

Multimedia journalist Adrian de Kock says he will lay criminal charges against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president Floyd Shivambu despite receiving an apology.
On Tuesday, Floyd Shivambu said he regretted his behaviour after he was caught on camera harassing the Netwerk24 journalist outside parliament for asking him for comment about Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille’s disciplinary hearing and taking pictures of him. Shivambu said in a statement he took full responsibility for the altercation.

In an interview with Talk Radio 702 on Wednesday morning, De Kock said Shivambu should still face legal action because his behaviour was uncalled for.
“I just think justice needs to be done. I don’t think it’s right. It’s my place of work, it’s his place of work. It doesn’t matter if I’m a journalist or not a journalist, you can’t be attacked at your job. I did nothing to provoke him so he can’t just turn his ego on to me,” De Kock said.
