These are the committees fired Cabinet ministers will serve in Parly

Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Cabinet reshuffle last month, many ministers who served in Cabinet have gone back to parliament as backbenchers.


These are the portfolio committees ministers who were appointed by former president Jacob Zuma have been assigned to serve in:

  • Former mineral resource minister Mosebenzi Zwane – Water and Sanitation committee.
  • Former energy minister David Mahlobo – Trade and Industry committee.
  • Former public works minister Nathi Nhleko – Finance committee.
  • Former state security minister Bongani Bongo – Communications and Small Business Development committees.
  • Former cooperative governance and traditional affairs minister Des van Rooyen – Justice and Correctional Services and Defence and Military Veterans committees.
  • Former deputy communications minister Thandi Mahambehlala – Energy and of Public Enterprises committees.
