Man in Rustenburg court for possession of explosives, stolen vehicles

Gama has also been implicated in burglaries in Lethabong and Tlhabane, and a car hijacking in Johannesburg.

A 29-year-old man accused of possessing explosive gel and stolen vehicles as well as robbery will appear in the Rustenburg magistrate’s court on Thursday to apply for bail, police said.

Tumisang Gama has already appeared twice in court since his arrest on December 24 following an investigation after police received information that he had two vehicles in his possession with what looked that bullet holes in them, spokeswoman sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said.

“As part of investigation, the police searched the accused’s room and found explosive gels, security hand held communication radio, police bullet resistant vest, false vehicles registration number plates, explosives and other items,” Moleko said.

The investigation linked Gama with a robbery committed in Rustenburg in the early hours of December 3.  He was also implicated in burglaries in Lethabong and Tlhabane, a car hijacking in Johannesburg and the theft of a vehicle in Krugersdorp.
