Wanted man shot dead near Umdloti in KZN
The alleged criminal had opened fire on the police when they fired back.

An alleged wanted criminal was located and shot dead near the M4 Umdloti turnoff on Sunday afternoon, the North Coast Courier reports.
SAPS spokesperson Colonel Thulani Zwane said the police have been on the hunt for the man they suspected of various crimes.
“We believe the man was involved in crimes such as murder and various house robberies,” Zwane said.
“We received information that he was travelling in a taxi this afternoon, and followed the taxi.
“When he got out near the Umdloti off-ramp, he opened fire on the police members and tried to run away. He was shot dead,” he said.
Two unlicensed firearms were also found.
