Ford issues recall to certain Ranger models

Dealers will replace the rear seatback latch assembly at no cost to the customer.

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa is recalling certain Ford Rangers vehicles built in Silverton between March 2013 and November 10 2015 to correct an issue with the rear folding seat back latch.

On certain double-cab models the rear folding seatback latch spring may break, causing the latch mechanism to malfunction, potentially preventing the rear seat back from locking into the upright position.

Dealers will replace the rear seatback latch assembly at no cost to the customer.

Ford remains committed to delivering world-class quality vehicles to our customers and this safety recall is part of that commitment.

If customers have any concerns or queries they can contact their Ford dealer or Ford Customer Service directly at 0800 204 688 / +27 12 843 5824 (international callers) or CRC3@ford.com.
