Full list of DA Western Cape provincial executive committee

City of Cape Town MMC Jean-Pierre Smith and Patricia De Lille’s political arch-rival was elected as deputy provincial chairperson.

During today’s DA Western Cape provincial elective conference held at Every Nation Church in Goodwood, Cape Town, the following office-bearers were elected by the provincial council into leadership positions.

After elections conducted by secret ballot and voting done using the single transferable voting system, Bonginkosi Madikizela emerged as the provincial leader.

MEC for social development Albert Fritz got the nod for deputy provincial leader position while local government and development planning MEC Anton Bredell became the provincial chairperson. City of Cape Town MMC Jean-Pierre Smith and Patricia De Lille’s political arch-rival was elected as deputy provincial chairperson.

Two other deputy provincial chairpersons were confirmed. They are City of Cape Town councillor Shaun August and Breedy Valley executive mayor Antoinette Steyn. MP Andricus Pieter Van der Westhuizen takes the helm as provincial chairperson for finance.

Additional members are MP James Vos; George councillor Peter Helfrich; Drakenstein Municipality executive mayor Conrad Poole and Tertius Simmers who is a member of the Eden District municipality mayoral committee.
