R90k worth of cocaine confiscated in Newcastle

A search was conducted in the house, and the cocaine stash was found.

Members of the Newcastle K9 Unit arrested a 42-year-old man on Sutherland Street, KwaZulu-Natal, for being in possession of 18 parcels of cocaine, reports the Newcastle Advertiser.

Newcastle SAPS marketing and liaison officer Lizzy Arumugam said police received a tip-off informing them the suspect was selling the cocaine from his house.

A search was conducted of the house, and the cocaine stash was found.

“It is believed the street value of the cocaine is around R90 000.”

The suspect appeared in the Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on July 26 on charges of possession of cocaine, and police investigations will continue.
