WATCH: Gusty winds create chaos at Seapoint promenade

The SA Weather Service has warned the storm will intensify any time after midday on Wednesday.


Storm Report SA has shared a few videos showing the severity of the storm that has recently hit the Western Cape.

In a video that has left many on social media in shock, the Cavendish Square roof can be seen blown off and landing on someone’s car, stopping the traffic as a result.

The storm that has recently hit Cape Town could see some places getting as much as 80mm of rain, with most rain expected over the southwestern parts of the Western Cape and the extreme western parts of the Northern Cape.

Snowfall is also expected over most high peaks of the Western Cape, with moderate to heavy snowfall over Matroosberg and the extreme high peak.

Due to the severity of the storm in the areas, the Western Cape government closed the schools and said teaching would commence on Thursday.
