Durban police are looking for two men believed to be behind the rape of a woman in her 20s who was raped in the Virginia bush on Monday night, Northglen News reports.

Police believe the woman’s drink was spiked while she was attending a party at Virginia Sports Grounds.

According to chairperson of the Durban North/uMhlanga CPF Haden Searles, the woman said she remembered two men, one of whom raped her, while the other stood by and watched. It’s understood the woman works in uMhlanga.

She was discovered on Tuesday morning half-naked by trail runners jogging along the path with a condom on the ground near her.

“She tried to run back to the party after she was raped in the bushes of the reserve.”

However, in her groggy state, she tripped over a rock and was found by two trail runners the next morning. They called the police who arrived shortly after to find the concussed woman.

There was dirt in her hair, and her face was covered with sand. She was at a party at the grounds with a few friends. There were a few guys she did not know at the party. She remembers walking along the nature trail when she was attacked and raped by one of the guys at the party while another stood by and watched.

“She said she felt groggy and tried to fight back but was unable to. Police believe her drink may have been spiked, which was why she was so groggy.

“The case has been registered at the Durban North police, and the Family Violence, Child Protection unit of the police are now involved. We are confident of an arrest in this case,” Searles said.
