CT ANC activist vouches for Phosa in ANC leadership race – report
Cape Town ANC activist Andile Lili was quoted as saying a leader who could "speak the language" of the poor, middle class was needed and that Phosa could take the party forward.

Cape Town ANC activist Andile Lili reportedly wants to see former ANC treasurer-general, Mathews Phosa take over the reins as the next leader of the ANC, saying that Phosa had a “credible leadership track record”.
Lili made headlines in 2013 for joining the protests against poor sanitation services in some of Cape Town’s informal settlements.
City Press reports that Lili had said the ANC members aligned to his Ses’khona People’s Rights Movement would meet on Sunday to discuss the campaign for Phosa as well as the future of the ANC.
Lili is further reported as saying that members of Zuma’s current leadership should step back, calling them “arrogant”, while he named others who he believed should direct the way forward for the party. The names mentioned were: Jeff Radebe, minister in the presidency; Blade Nzimande, minister of higher education; Senzo Mchunu, former premier of KwaZulu-Natal; and Thandi Modise, chairperson of the national council of provinces.

He added that the Cape Town movement was disappointed in the 2016 elections.
