WATCH: Parly inquiry into SABC board debates final report

Parliament's ad-hoc committee is meeting to deliberate over the final report into the SABC board's fitness to hold office.

The provisional report was leaked after final interviews commenced last week Friday.

The committee found that an investigation into wasteful expenditure must be conducted to ascertain where and how R5 billion was misused by the SABC.

The R553-million deal, facilitated by Hlaudi Motsoeneng between SABC and Multichoice, was also scrutinised, with the report indicating that “the SABC board must institute a forensic audit into the agreement that resulted in the transfer of part of the archives to a private monopoly with the specific aim of considering annulment of the agreement in the event of evidence of any improper activities by the contradicting parties”.
