Seven Somalis in their 20s have been arrested during a police operation on the N4 in Mpumalanga this morning.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlathi said the arrest happened at about 5am, Lowvelder reported.
“They were travelling in the direction of the border towards Mbombela when police stopped the bakkie.”
He said police arrested the Somalis on the Immigration Act.
Hlathi added the driver of the vehicle was also arrested for aiding and abetting.
Hawks police spokesperson Captain Dineo Sekgotodi said they were still busy investigating the matter further.
