Seven dead in N1 crash

Seven people have been confirmed dead following a collision on the N1 road between Mokopane and Mookgopong in Limpopo.
According to Jushua Kwapa, spokesperson for the department of transport, the accident occurred near Tobias when two sedans travelling in opposite directions collided head-on on Sunday, Review Online reported.
Both drivers and five passengers died on impact.
Two passengers one being a child of about two-years-old sustained critical injuries, and were rushed to Mokopane Hospital.
The cause of the accident is still unknown, and will form part of a police investigation, but reckless and negligent driving has not been ruled out.
Emergency services are on the scene, and the N1 has been closed in both directions. Road users are being diverted on to the R101.
