Security guard disarmed, stabbed multiple times in robbery

A security guard was stabbed to death during an armed robbery on Sibaya Drive in Durban.
According to Crisis Medical spokesperson Neil Powell, the incident occurred just after 8pm on Tuesday.
It is believed the guard was robbed of his weapon by several assailants before being assaulted and stabbed more than 30 times, Northglen News reported.
“Paramedics responded to the murder opposite BP near Sibaya Drive. The victim, a security guard in his 40s, was assaulted by what is believed to be multiple assailants and was robbed of his firearm.”
“The suspects stabbed the victim more than 30 times in the brutal assault. Unfortunately, he had succumbed to his injuries when paramedics arrived and was declared dead on scene,” he said.
Durban North SAPS were on scene, and a case of murder has been opened.
